What Participants are Saying about Our Programs
This Spring participants came from the U.S., Australia, France, Nova Scotia, Albert, Quebec and Ontario to attend Sustainability Learning Centre Programs. They left our Employee Engagement, Sustainability Strategy, GHG Footprint, Industrial Ecology and Eco-Business Zones/Eco-Industrial Parks programs inspired to take leadership on sustainability. "I really enjoyed your course, it was one of the best I have attended and have recommended your programs to others," says Shirley Marsh, a Planner at the Sustainability Office in Markham. Shirley particularly liked how we discussed the issues from all angles -- academic, professional, practical, and public.
Our way of looking at all angles is a component of Systems Thinking and part of our Pedagogy of Sustainability, also known as Sustainability Focused Learning. Each of our programs intentionally incorporates:
- Systems, Critical and Futures Thinking
- Experiential Learning
- Dialogical and peer based learning
- Double Loop Learning
- Communities of Practice
- The development of Green Core Competencies
