Industrial

Industrial manufacturers are finding significant savings in energy, water, waste and materials in their plants and throughout their supply chains. Eco-efficiencies, the first step in industrial sustainability is simply “good business”.

How is this possible? Well, most of today’s industrial processes are characterized by a linear “take-make-waste” model and under this approach only about 6% of inputs end up embedded in the final product 6 months after its production.

This means that as a product travels through the supply chain, 94 % its inputs (such as raw materials, water, energy, oxygen) are expelled as waste.

Companies are finding that a better approach focuses on a more efficient use of energy, water and materials; closed-loop processes to eliminate waste streams from entering the environment; eco-effectiveness strategies that consider the product’s entire life cycle and practices that restore renewable resources and communities.
