Course Description

Implementing Sustainability using the Sustainability Toolkit

SustainabilitytoolkitcoverThe Sustainability Toolkit was developed to address a critical gap in the evolving field of sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

Various organizations have developed guidance documents that define social responsibility (e.g. ISO 26000) or describe how sustainability efforts should be reported (e.g. Global Reporting Initiative).

However, there has been a lack of available guidance on how to actually implement sustainability in an organization.

The toolkit has been designed to fill this sustainability implementation gap by combining the principles and core considerations of ISO 26000 with the framework defined by leading management system standards such as ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. Given its management system foundation, the toolkit provides a practical approach to sustainability implementation that is applicable to all sizes of organizations across industry sectors.

SustainabilitytoolkitwheelIn developing the toolkit, extensive research was conducted to ensure it meets the sustainability reporting demands being imposed on the supply chains of numerous large private sector and public sector organizations.

In this webinar, you will gain an overview of the toolkit and its use. You will:

1. Examine the 13 steps to sustainability implementation.

2. Understand the 5 key principles required by ISO 26000 and GRI.

3. Connect your current quality and safety programs with sustainability implementation

4. Review an assessment that will rate your current sustainability position.

5. Discuss next step in using this simple toolkit for sustainability implementation.
